Lecture on Multistage Approach for Flexible Routing in Flexible Manufacturing Systems
Advanced Manufacturing Institute, King Saud University organized a lecture entitled “Multistage Approach for Flexible Routing in Flexible Manufacturing Systems” presented by Dr. Jaber Abu Qudeiri.
The presentation was attended by a group of professors, researchers and students at the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering College.
In addition, Dr. Abu Qudeiri introduced at the beginning of the presentation an explanation of stages of the Multistage Approach to solve flexible routing problem in FMS. These stages include the production simulation system to find the fitness of the FMS corresponding to different products routes groups.
Moreover, the second stage proposes an artificial neural network approach to predict the products routes group in FMS. The last stage combines genetic algorithms and artificial neural network to optimize proper routes for all product types in FMS.
At the end of presentation, many questions on the topic of the presentation were discussed.
