King Saud University Discusses the fields and mechanisms of the research partnership in the fields of health and sciences

A workshop was held on Tuesday, 14 Jumada II 1440H (19 February 2019) as an initiative of the Deanship of Scientific Research for Women's Divisions within the activities of the second scientific research forum "The Future of Investment in Scientific Research: Opportunities and Challenges ", in the presence of Dr. Khaled Al-Humizi, Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research.This workshop came as an initiative of the Deanship of Women's Departments to build bridges of communication and develop the research relationship with the scientific research leaders in universities and local research centers and government sectors in preparation for achieving research partnerships aimed and advanced with different research sectors. Many universities have been hosted in Riyadh, represented by Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University, Prince Sultan University and Al Yamamah University. Many local research centers were represented at the research center at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, King Saud University for Health Sciences, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and King Salman Center for Disability Research. In addition to the Ministry of Health, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and the General Authority for Food and Drug Administration.The workshop discussed the importance of activating the research partnership between universities and local research centers and government sectors. It also discussed the research opportunities currently available to activate the mutual research partnership and highlighted the obstacles to activating the research partnership. As well as possible solutions to overcome the difficulties and obstacles that may face the activation of research partnership.The workshop was held through two working sessions The participants were rich and discussed the opportunities of the research partnership and the proposed mechanisms to activate the research partnership. The session started with an opening speech and welcome to Dr. Abeer El Masri, Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Women's Divisions. She explained the importance of the research partnership. The main objective of this workshop is to activate the research partnership and find the appropriate mechanisms to activate it. The presentation was followed by a presentation by Dr. Khaled Al-Humeizi, in which he explained the opportunities for possible research partnership with King Saud University, in addition to highlighting the size of the university's research output, which is estimated at 30% of the Kingdom's research output. The presentations were then presented by universities, research centers and various parties involved in presenting the fields and opportunities of the research partnership available to them, highlighting the strengths that support the partnership with the university in various scientific and health fields.

Finally, the attendees discussed the importance of establishing specific mechanisms to activate the research partnership with universities, research centers and other supporting bodies. All participants expressed their interest in activating the research partnership and thanked them for the initiative of the Deanship of Scientific Research at King Saud University to work on activating this research partnership. The workshop concluded by recommending the need to continue holding consecutive and specialized sessions and workshops in order to develop stable working mechanisms to promote joint scientific publishing.
