Prof. Khurram Selected as the ‘IEEE Distinguished Lecturer’

Muhammad Khurram Khan, a Professor of Cybersecurity from the Center of Excellence in Information Assurance at King Saud University, has been selected and awarded the prestigious title ‘Distinguished Lecturer’ of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is the world’s largest technical and professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Prof. Khurram will represent the Consumer Electronics Society of the IEEE to share his knowledge, experience, and insights in the field of Cybersecurity to the global community of professionals, academics, engineers, and scientists. 

 

 

 

IEEE Distinguished Lecturer Program honors outstanding scientists and academicians in the world who have made extraordinary contributions in their specializations to enhance the technical programs of the IEEE. Distinguished Lecturers are ambassadors of the IEEE, who empower and add value to the global society by sharing their knowledge, research and contributions. 

 

IEEE, headquartered in the USA, is the world's largest association of technical and engineering professionals with more than 422,000 members in over 160 countries. IEEE produces over 30% of the world's literature in the electrical and electronics engineering and computer science fields, publishing well over 200 peer-reviewed journals/Magazines/transactions and sponsoring over 1900 conferences and events around the world. 

 

It is to note that Prof Khurram is the first ever who has been selected as the distinguished lecturer by consumer electronics society from the region. Prof. Khurram has published more than 350 papers in the journals and conferences of international repute and holds several US/PCT patents. He is the Editor-in-Chief of a prestigious international journal of Springer-Verlag ‘Telecommunication Systems’, which has 1.527 impact factor. He is well-known internationally due to his outstanding contributions and services to the Cybersecurity. He is founder and CEO of the Global Foundation for Cyber Studies and Research (http://www.gfcyber.org), an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan Cybersecurity Think Tank in Washington DC.
