: Introduction

The College of Computer and Information Sciences is proud of its current programs and outcomes, but it is also proud of its awareness and commitment to its pivotal role in the implementation of the Kingdom Vision 2030, which focused on strengthening and hardening cybersecurity to protect vital national infrastructures and ICT systems. This has led the college to harnessing all of its departments to co-offer a stand-alone graduate program in cybersecurity

 The Master of Science in Cybersecurity provides practitioners with the framework and knowledge to protect an organization's cyber assets. The program is designed for midcareer professionals who wish to equip their selves with the knowledge and skills to face the challenges posed by the increasing cyber-threats. The program will be also a good choice for fresh graduates from any Information Technology related program. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the program is designed to provide students with a broad analytical framework for evaluating and solving cybersecurity problems including prevention, detection, countering, and recovery from cyber incidents. Students will learn about technical tools and organizational practices such as training, access control, evidence collection, and disaster recovery and business continuity planning

. Prepare students to conduct applied research in the field of cybersecurity that has direct impact on the concerns of the local/regional community and the private sector needs- 

. Supply local/regional industries and educational institutions with a qualified workforce in different specialties of cybersecurity- 

. Provide students with fundamental cybersecurity topics such as: cryptography and cybersecurity governance to so that they can choose from the various elective topics and emphasis areas that best fit their future careers-

 

:Employment Opportunities Available

The program allows graduates to work in academia and industry in cybersecurity specialties

The program qualifies graduates to work in private and public institutions dealing with information security, cryptography, forensics, incidence response, security solutions development, vulnerability assessment, security analysis, consultation, security audit, etc

The potential positions include Information Security Analyst; System, Network, and/or Web Penetration Tester; Security Architect; Malware Analyst; and Network Security Engineer

: Admission Requirements

In addition to the admission requirements mentioned in the unified regulations for graduate studies in Saudi universities and the organizational and executive rules and procedures for postgraduate studies at King Saud University, the college requires the following to enroll in the program

1. Applicant should hold a B.Sc. degree in specializations (Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer

Engineering) from King Saud University or any other university recommended by the Ministry of Education with a grade not less than “Very Good” and an average not less than 80%

. Applicant should have a minimum score of 450 in paper based TOEFL (PBT) or equivalent in IELTS or STEPS-

. Applicant should pass the quantitative reasoning part of the QUDURAT test with a minimum score of 80 or the GRE quantitative reasoning part with a minimum score of 500-

. Applicant should pass the admission written test held by the Program Council-

. Applicant should submit two letters of recommendation from two professors who previously taught him/her including description of his/her academic and technical performance-

Applications that do not meet some or any of the above requirements may be considered after approval of the Program Council.
