On Thursday, corresponding to 19/6/1441 AH, at exactly one o’clock in the afternoon, Dr. Salman bin Ali bin Wahf Al-Qahtani, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, had a direct meeting with the female faculty members in the female section of the college. In this meeting, the Dean stated that he was assigned to this position to complete the efforts and achievements made by his former colleagues and to achieve the vision of the college. The vision of the college is linked to the vision of the university, which in turn is also linked to the vision of the ministry and the vision of the country. The next role is to review the college’s roadmap in partnership with all its affiliates to ensure its continuity to achieve the goals and achievements that ensure the achievement of ambitious visions in record time considering the permanent support that the college enjoys from the Rector of the University and the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. He also indicated that there are new tasks in the college that are being worked on. Some of them have been implemented, and some are under development with the participation of all agents and heads of departments, the most important of which is the opening and activation of all modern cyber academic programs for male and female students in all academic stages of the college to keep pace with developments and meet the existing national need.

There are other organizational and administrative tasks under research and study by specialized committees. The Dean noted that the management style that he follows is an equal one, which means that everyone is on the same level of importance and interest, and everyone is a partner in the work. The Dean also seeks to achieve justice as much as he can and provide an opportunity to share responsibilities among everyone in developing the college and continuing to advance it to the required level. It is important to take into account the provision of competence and experience in application of the rule “surely the best of those that you can employ is the strong man, the faithful one.”, as well as the delegation of power as a basic principle for business development, but it does not absolve the dean from bearing the responsibility before the university regarding the progress of the college and its continued development.

One of the most important developments in the college is the activation of the public relations and media unit in the college associated with the Dean, where the Director issued a decision assigning Dr. Najwa Al-Ghamdi to chair it. A new initiative called the “Digital Strategic Partnerships Program” was also established, and a distinguished committee of faculty members was formed to supervise the program. This committee works hard to create and strengthen sustainable and effective partnerships and initiatives for the college. We are currently in the process of documenting and announcing everything that happens in the college on an ongoing basis on the college website, in the college’s account on Twitter and via the official email. The Dean added that the women’s section is composed of trustworthy professors and students and is an integral part of our system.

The Dean also indicated that the university is oriented towards distributing human resources in all departments in a fair manner, and there are specialized committees in the college looking into this issue and exchanging opinions. The Dean added that the goal is to benefit from the human resources in all departments, with the possibility of transferring faculty members from one department to another according to the person's desire and the approval of the departments and the existing need of the college.

At the end of the meeting, the Dean informed the members that the channels of communication with him personally are open to everyone via email, call or visit.  The Dean welcomes hearing meaningful criticism before thanks and praise because his goal is to raise the level of the college and preserve its gains and also encourage good faith and teamwork to create an academic familial environment in which everyone has familiarity and love.
