The Launching of Pilot Projects by Center for Business Incubators and Accelerators at the Institute for Entrepreneurship

          Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of King Saud University, Prof. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, the Center for Business Incubators and Accelerators (Khuta) at the Institute of Entrepreneurship held a demo day, in the main theater at the Female Student Campus, to showcase the Center's projects and to launch a group of pilot projects.

        The Director of Business Incubators and Accelerators, Haifa Al-Shammari, opened the event, celebrating the institute's efforts in presenting products that are in alignment with scientific and academic requirements to facilitate its success in the market. She also spoke about the Center’s efforts to realize the vision that focuses on providing opportunities for all through an educational system that meets the labor market needs and the total economy of the Kingdom.

       Dr. Ibrahim Al Harkan, General Director of Institute for Entrepreneurship, explained that the institute came a long way since 2016 in establishing an innovative entrepreneurship system, and that the Institute’s infrastructure has started to emerge which led to this success we are witnessing today. He pointed out that the role of the University is to produce outputs of good quality and economic feasibility to reach the market.

       The Director of Entrepreneurship, Dr. Al Jawhara Al Quwaiz, praised the efforts and special attention that the President of King Saud University and the Dean of Higher Studies and Scientific Research are giving to the Institute and its outputs. She then proceeded to say that exceptional entrepreneurs are the owners of projects that have been developed during a global crisis and are citizens who have faced and overcome economic conditions for an idea they believed in, and that the achievements we celebrate today are not the achievement of one person but the efforts of a whole system.

The projects presented in the Demo Day includes:

Tariqi; "My Path" by Haneen AlThaqafi and Bushra AlKharsah: An interactive digital platform that connects students providing delivery and transportation services and students who need the services in easy and interactive ways.

“Micro-Mosaic” by Moudi Al-Jasir: live paintings that represent the beautiful reality in all its details, which differs from the basic mosaic  available in the market.

"Aloula Virtual Clinic" application by Dr. Awatef Abanmi  and Dr. Nayef al-Enazi: a virtual clinic specializing in gynecology and obstetrics, with the aim of providing a health service within a technically integrated system.

“Falcon Generators” by Muhammad Al-Hutail: a project for the production of renewable energy through the manufacture of a Falcon generator-based electric power plant.

Thakkerni; “Remind Me" application by Sarah Al-Yemni: an application for patients and a website for pharmacists. The pharmacist enters the name of the medicine, the dose, and the date and time to take the medicine, and then the application will send a text message to the patient’s phone. The goal is to remind patients to take their medicine on time through continuous voice notification.

Modon Al-Alah; "Cities of Machine" by Sarah Al-Khamees: an innovative recreational experience that combines culture, entertainment and science to create a profitable entertainment industry.

Ehtiwa'a; "containment" Application by Fawzia AlDuwaikh: an application that helps parents find high-efficiency nurseries based on child’s age, time of service, location, and fees. Once the child is enrolled in one of the listed nurseries, a personal profile will be created that will enable parents to monitor their child throughout the day without the need to contact or visit the nursery.
