A panel discussion on “The College of Languages and Translation Initiatives to Cooperate with the Chair of Quranic Sciences” was held Wednesday, Oct. 26, in King Saud University’s College of Languages and Translation.

On the panel were Chair Supervisor Dr. Abdurrahman Alshehry, an associate professor of Quranic studies in KSU’s College of Education, along with vice rectors, department heads and a number of experts from the Chair and from the College, including Dr. Faiz Alshihri, dean of the College of Languages and Translation.

Dr. Faiz began by welcoming the members of the Chair and thanked them for their initiative to cooperate with the College in order to serve the Holy Quran.

The discussion began with suggested methods of cooperation between the College and the Chair, among them, several advanced projects, which the College pledged readiness to implement and supervise in cooperation with the Quran Chair. Dr. Faiz welcomed the cooperation and gave his approval in principle to sign a memo of cooperation with the Chair to guarantee that this cooperation will continue.

The Chair of Quranic Sciences aims to boost Quranic studies and to plan for them on professional and scientific bases, making use of KSU’s vision of serving the Holy Book.
