Dr. Ruth Herbert from University of Sheffield, visited KSU to meet her student Shams Almuzaini on October 25, 2014 at College of Applied Studies and Community service, Department of English Language. Where Dr. Herbert has been received by internal supervisor Dr. Lamya Alabdulkarim.

Dr. Herbert led a workshop entitled "Aphasia: Building a Research Group" and presented a seminar entitled “Anomia Assessment and Intervention" for KSU faculty.

Dr. Herbert research has focused on ways of making life better for people with aphasia. This has centered on investigations into the nature of aphasia, leading to more refined diagnosis and selection of treatment.

In addition, Dr. Herbert worked on making information more accessible for people with aphasia. This has resulted in national guidelines for information access and materials to aid information provision.
