The Vice Rectorate for Educational and Academic Affairs held the first Board of Directors’ meeting for the Educational Center for Professional Education and Professional Development. The two-hour meeting was held at the Vice Rectorate at 1:00 pm on Tuesday 12/7/1437 corresponding to 19/4/2016.
Chairman of the Board, Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs began the meeting by welcoming the members of the Board:
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Natheer – Director of the Educational Center for Professional Education and Professional Development
- Dr. Adel Al-Shayea – Assistant Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs for Training and Practical Learning
- Dr. Yousif AlShumaimeri – Dean, College of Education
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Miqbil – General Director of Training and Scholarship, Ministry of Education
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Harthi – Faculty Member, College of Education
- Dr. Saleh Al-Farraj – Director of the Center for Training and Community Service
- Dr. Khalid Al-Shareef – Director of the Training Center, College of Applied Studies and Community Service
- Dr. Meryam Tyrkestani – Faculty Member, College of Education
Dr. Mohammed Al-Natheer gave a brief presentation about the Center, its proposed administrative structure, and draft administrative and financial regulations. The members discussed proposals for the development and implementation of education diploma programs as well as other proposed training programs.
It is worth noting that KSU’s Rector issued a decision to form the Center’s Board of Directors chaired by the Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs and including:
- Director of the Educational Center for Professional Education and Professional Development
- Assistant Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs for Training and Practical Learning
- Dean of the College of Education
- General Director of Training and Scholarship at the Ministry of Education
- Dr. Mohammed Al-Harthi – Faculty Member, College of Education
- Director of the Center for Training and Community Service
- Director of the Training Center, College of Applied Studies and Community Service
- Dr. Meryam Tyrkestani – Faculty Member, College of Education
The Rector’s Decision is valid for one year as of 17/4/1437
The Center offers programs in professional development and educational training to educators, and provides them, as well as leaders in the field of education, with the necessary knowledge and professional experience to deal with the requirements of the 21st Century. The Center also works towards implementing professional standards in training educators and leaders in the field of education after adapting these standards to our norms.
