Dr. Arshad Noor Siddiquee, Professor in Mechanical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi – INDIA has recently visited Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI), King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh to explore the academic and research cooperation with AMI. He has been teaching in JMI, since 1993 and also served in India’s premiere statutory body "All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)". His main area of Research is Friction Stir Welding and Processing, a technology with great opportunities in Defense, Aerospace, Shipbuilding, and other promising areas. His work includes over 100 articles in reputed international journals, and several patents to his credit. He has also authored several books on core topics of mechanical engineering. He engages in philanthropic work and under him more than ten research scholars are doing doctoral research. He has been associated with several journals as reviewer, advisor and editor.

AMI has emerged as a premiere institution in the region with world class research facilities in the thrust areas such as Laser, Electron beam based manufacturing processes and other non-traditional processes such as Ultrasonics, Virtual Reality, Material characterization and many more. Under the able deanship of Prof. Abdulrahman M. Al-Ahmari, the AMI witnessed remarkable progressed and achieved recognition as a premiere research institution on the global canvass. During his visit to the AMI Prof. Siddiquee closely interacted with the faculty members, research staff, and scholars of the institute. He was exalted to see the research facilities established at AMI.

The visit Prof. Siddiquee's visit, opens up new avenues for cooperation in several academic fronts such as research and academic publications, development of patentable prototypes/processes and designs. Additionally, AMI can also expect to receive potential motivated research scholars who will further strengthen the research manpower in AMI.
