Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, inaugurated a savings campaign organized by the Women's Committee for Community Development in Riyadh, in a strategic partnership with King Saud University and the Association of Entrepreneurship, aimed to raising awareness among Saudi families about the importance of saving and spreading the culture of saving in society, and strengthening the role of the family in contributing to the national economy and achieving social development.

The inauguration took place on Tuesday 31st of October at KSU Female campus. The inauguration ceremony was attended by KSU Vice Rector Dr. Abdullah S. Al-Salman on behalf of Rector Dr. Badran Al-Omar, General Director for King Salman Institute for Entrepreneurship Dr. Ibrahim Al-Harkan and Wife of Riyadh Governor Princess Norah bint Mohammed (Chairperson of Women's Committee for Community Development in Riyadh).

"This campaign initiated by Women's Committee for Community Development, aims to increase public awareness of the importance of savings In Saudi society which is Compatible with Saudi Vision 2030. The committee identifies the developmental needs of the society, builds social partnerships and executes these initiatives." Princess Norah bint Mohammed in a statement about the campaign.  

At the beginning introductory film about the campaign was showed. In a speech at the ceremony, Dr. Wafa al-Mobaireek (Head of the executive committee) said : "launching this campaign, which coincides with the World Savings Day​​​,  reflects the strength of partnership and interest between the strategic partners in both public and private sectors. Ministries, banks and private sectors will participate in the campaign". Dr. AL-Mobaireek added: " The campaign includes many innovative and creative activities and lectures at schools and universities to attracts young people in different provinces."

In the rector's address, delivered by vice rector Dr. Abdullah S. Al-Salman, he welcomed the attendees and expressed thanks and appreciation to Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz for his patronage of the inauguration. He added that KSU recognizes that social responsibility is as importance as its academic role, and undertaking social responsibility programs is crucial in building awareness among society. He stressed on the importance of savings for governments, economies, families and for individuals alike. He added "The Financial Balancing Program 2020, which extended from the Saudi Vision 2030, is an evidence of the importance of this subject".

 

General Director for King Salman Institute for Entrepreneurship Dr. Ibrahim Al-Harkan pointed out that King Salman Institute for Entrepreneurship's participation in this campaign aims to bridge the gap between individuals and the labor market and to encourage individuals to be savers instead of spenders and employers instead of employees.

 Campaign Ambassadors' film was shown, their main role is to raise awareness and to provide courses.

During the inauguration, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz launched the campaigns website which includes the campaign's upcoming events and activities.

At the end of the inauguration, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz honored Vice-Rector for Female Student Affairs Dr. Einas Sulaiman Al-Eisa, the sponsors, the participating government and private parties, banks, scientific societies and Charitable Associations.
