Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence “SDAYA”, the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence was launched on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, and lasted for three days. The summit was attended by more than 10,000 people, and over 200 speakers from 90 countries, representing policymakers in AI, and heads of global technology companies in the world.

King Saud University participated with a booth showcasing 14 projects in artificial intelligence and modern technology. The Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Yazid Al-Sheikh emphasized the university's continuous endeavor to enhance the fields of modern technology in education and research,

He expressed his happiness with the projects showcased in the booth, which meet the aspirations of the World Conference and National Vision 2030.

Among the showcased projects and inventions are Memory Therapy Robot (a socially assistive robot for Alzheimer's patients), Another-Me Robot (a telepresence robot for people with speech difficulties or motor disabilities), a Cybersecurity System Project (to protect the infrastructure of networks in smart cities), The Smart Car Project (which automatically controls electronic cars), The Real Estate App (provides predictions and suggestions related to the real estate market in different regions in Saudi Arabia), Qatrah Project ( an Internet of Things “IoT”-based smart system to monitor water level and quality in water tanks), Yakedh Project (which predicts traffic accidents using deep Machine Learning “ML”), Rafiqi Robot (an Augmented Reality “AR”-based robot for translating  between Arabic and sign language), the Garbage Collector Robot (a computer vision-based system for waste classification and collection), and Vegentera , (an AI-based video analytics system to help retailers analyze the customers’ behaviors).
