Governor of Riyadh Region Patronizes King Saud University’s 2025 Graduation Ceremony

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, patronized the 2025 graduation ceremony of King Saud University students from various disciplines and academic degrees, held last evening at King Saud University Stadium “Al-Awal Park.”

During the celebration, three graduates — including one student with disabilities — won cars and excellence awards. Additionally, other graduates were selected by stadium cameras to receive international travel tickets, tablets, and smartphones.

Upon his arrival at the venue, His Royal Highness was received by Prince Fahd bin Saad, Governor of Diriyah, Minister of Education and Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, Mr. Yousef Al-Bunyan, and Acting President of King Saud University, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman.

The ceremony began with the royal anthem followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. Then, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman delivered a speech in which he announced that the university is celebrating the graduation of over 8,000 students from various disciplines and academic degrees in 2025. He emphasized that the event reflects the university’s mission and ongoing role in empowering promising generations and graduating outstanding national talents who contribute to building the Kingdom’s future under Saudi Vision 2030, and it also reflects pride in the graduates’ achievements and academic excellence worthy of recognition.

The event continued with a performance titled “The Epic of the Beacon of Knowledge” presented by university students. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Nasser bin Turki, also addressed the audience, stating that the 2025 graduating class includes a total of 8297 students with 131 PhD holders, 51 fellowship recipients, 1115 Master’s degree recipients, 5778 Bachelor’s degree recipients, 33 higher diploma recipients, 1168 intermediate diploma recipients, 19 associate diploma recipients, and 2 medical diploma recipients.

A speech was then delivered on behalf of the graduates. Breaking from tradition, the university opted not to hold the usual graduate procession in front of the patron and guests. Instead, the graduates stood by their seats to be honored.
