The University Organizes the Orientation Program for Its New Students at the Deanship of the Common First Year

King Saud University, represented by the Deanship of the Common First Year, organized the orientation program activities for its freshmen for the academic year 1447 AH under the slogan "Promising Aspirations for an Ambitious Nation." The program aims to prepare the new students and familiarize them with the rules and regulations governing their university studies, introduce them to academic programs and available services, explain university study mechanisms, and create a supportive environment by providing all necessary resources. This is to enhance their readiness and help them adapt to the university’s academic environment.

The program, running until next Thursday, consists of two phases. The first is the online phase, completed remotely by the students. It includes reviewing university regulations, filling out basic student information, introducing the university email system, booking a slot for the interactive orientation events, and taking the English placement test. The second phase is interactive and features a series of activities starting with an introductory lecture, followed by issuing the university ID card, and then distributing the university textbooks.

Dr. Mohammed Hindi Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the Deanship of the Common First Year, affirmed that the program aims to build bridges of communication with students and equip them with the knowledge and skills that contribute to their academic success from day one. He noted that the program’s activities support students’ academic adaptation and facilitate their successful start at the university.

He also highlighted the University Board of Trustees’ initiative for direct admission of outstanding students, aiming to attract the best high school graduates to join the university’s various academic programs, while continuing to benefit from the Deanship’s programs to refine their knowledge and skills.
