University Celebrates International Students’ Day

Under the patronage of Acting President of King Saud University, Professor Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Masmali, and inaugurated by Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Daghri, the university celebrated International Students’ Day on Monday, 26 Jumada I 1447 AH (17 November 2025) in the Main Hall of the university. The event was attended by university vice presidents, several college deans and vice deans, university staff, and students.
Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the Office of International Students, the celebration featured participation from over 41 countries, represented by their international students who showcased their diverse cultures and heritage.
Professor Dr. Ali Al-Dalbahi, Dean of Student Affairs and General Supervisor of the event, stated that approximately 300 male and female students took part in the celebration, along with participation from the “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform. He emphasized that the event aims to enhance cultural interaction among students and offer opportunities for exposure to diverse global cultures—alongside Saudi culture—creating an inclusive and supportive academic environment where international students feel a sense of belonging.
King Saud University currently hosts a large number of international students from more than 95 countries across various disciplines and degree levels, with strong institutional support to ensure their academic and personal success.
The accompanying exhibition featured cultural booths representing the participating countries, where students presented traditional clothing, popular dishes, cultural artifacts, brochures, and artwork reflecting their heritage. Students also delivered artistic performances showcasing the traditional folklore of their homelands.
The exhibition included a special Saudi booth, which highlighted elements of Saudi national identity through traditional hospitality and a live demonstration of Saudi iqal craftsmanship.
At the conclusion of the event, participating countries were honored in recognition of their efforts in showcasing their cultures and introducing them to the university community.
A corresponding celebration was also held for female students at the Female Student Housing Complex, attended by the Vice Dean of Student Affairs for the female campus. The event included national dress shows, traditional dishes, and cultural displays prepared by female students from different countries.
These events reflect King Saud University’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity, fostering a welcoming environment for international students, and enriching the overall university experience by building bridges of cultural exchange among all students.
