To Support Residency Training, the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the College of Medicine Organizes the “Visiting Physician” Event
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the College of Medicine organized today, Wednesday, January 29, 2026, the event “Visiting Physician for the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program”, as part of its efforts to promote the exchange of expertise and build the scientific and practical capacities of residency program doctors in the specialty. The event aimed to enhance the academic and professional level of resident doctors and enable them to explore the latest advanced surgical practices in orthopedic surgery through a specialized scientific and practical program reflecting the focus on developing clinical training.
The program was presented by Dr. Youssef Marwan, Assistant Professor and Consultant of Orthopedic Surgery at Kuwait University, specializing in deformity and sports injury surgeries, where he shared his clinical expertise and the latest surgical techniques.
The scientific program covered several advanced topics, including patellar surgeries, knee stabilization procedures, and corrective surgeries for post-fracture deformities, in addition to a specialized surgical workshop on knee realignment procedures, contributing to enhancing the practical skills of the trainees.
The event was attended by members of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, fellowship doctors, orthopedic surgery residency program doctors, and a number of medical students interested in the specialty, highlighting the importance of such programs in supporting continuous medical education and improving the quality of clinical training.
