The College of Medicine enhances female students’ empowerment in sports through high-quality competitive tournaments.
Medical college female students recorded a notable presence in the university sports scene through their participation in a series of diverse tournaments organized and supervised by the college’s women’s sports club, in a step that reflects the growing culture of women’s sports and the تعزيز of competitive spirit within the academic environment, with direct support from the college.
The tournaments held during April witnessed a variety of competitions. The bowling tournament was held with the participation of 26 students, in which the student Weha Al-Mutahmi secured first place. The volleyball tournament included 12 students and ended with the first team defeating the second team with a score of 15 to 14 points.
In the padel tournament, which saw the participation of 15 students, Nouf Al-Dalqan achieved first place, while Shatha Al-Shabani and Waad Abunakh’ came in second place, and Joud Asiri and Shaden Al-Otaibi placed third. An online Overwatch tournament was also held with the participation of 10 students, where the team consisting of Leen Bin Duaij, Rimas Al-Juaidi, Nasreen Al-Huwaimani, Sadeem Al-Saadoun, and Amal Al-Juwair won first place.
In the e-sports tournaments, Alhanouf Al-Qahtani achieved first place in the FIFA tournament, followed by Raseel Bin Quroon and then Noura Al-Ahmari. In the Overcooked tournament, Huda Al-Mousa secured first place, followed by Alhanouf Al-Qahtani and then Basma Al-Ghamdi. Rana Al-Rabiah also topped the Gang Beasts tournament, with Alhanouf Al-Qahtani in second place and Basma Al-Ghamdi in third place.
These tournaments come as part of the college’s efforts, under the supervision of the women’s sports club, to enhance the quality of university life, support the balance between academic achievement and physical activity, and develop the spirit of competition among students, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in supporting women’s participation in sports.
