Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafn, inaugurates the “Digest Healthily” campaign to promote awareness of digestive system diseases.

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafn, inaugurated the activities of the awareness campaign “Digest Healthily,” on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the outpatient clinics at King Khalid University Hospital; organized and supervised by the Student Activities Unit, with the aim of raising awareness of common digestive system diseases and correcting related misconceptions.
Dr. Al-Jafn emphasized during the campaign’s opening the importance of student awareness initiatives in enhancing health culture within the community, praising the efforts of students and organizers in delivering awareness programs that contribute to spreading health awareness and fulfilling the university’s community mission.
The event witnessed the participation of a number of students and volunteers, and included multiple awareness booths addressing the most common digestive system diseases, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gluten sensitivity, lactose intolerance, and colon cancer, through simplified explanations and educational content directed at visitors, in addition to promoting awareness of the importance of early screening and adopting a healthy lifestyle, which contributes to reducing health complications and preventing these diseases.
