The University Celebrates the 95th Saudi National Day

Under the patronage of the Acting President of King Saud University, Prof. Ali bin Mohammed Masmali, and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, Vice Chairman of the Shura Council, and H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Dakhel Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, the university held its celebration of the 95th Saudi National Day on Wednesday, 2 Rabi‘ Al-Akhir 1447 AH, corresponding to September 24, 2025. The event was attended by the university’s vice presidents, deans of colleges and supporting deanships, as well as a number of faculty, staff, and students. The ceremony, held at Hamad Al-Jasser Hall, began with a lecture titled “A Hundred Years of Shura: A Historical Journey” delivered by H.E. Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, Vice Chairman of the Shura Council, who was honored at the conclusion of the lecture by the Acting President of the University.
The ceremony included a range of national and cultural segments, among them a patriotic poem titled "A Stand of Pride" delivered by His Excellency Prof. Saleh bin Eidah Al-Zahrani from the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. This was followed by a musical operetta entitled "Marching with Pride", along with theatrical scenes performed by university students, portraying key stages in the Kingdom’s development and renaissance. The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the winners of the drawing and photography competition titled “Our Pride Lies in Our Identity.”
His Excellency the Acting President of the University also inaugurated the accompanying exhibition in the main lobby, beginning with raising the Flag of Unity—bearing the inscription “Only Allah is to be worshipped”—alongside university scouting students, proudly waving it in the sky over King Saud University. He then toured the exhibition, which featured pavilions representing the cultural heritage and popular traditions of the Kingdom’s four regions: Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western, and the Central Region. The exhibition showcased authentic hospitality customs, including the serving of traditional Saudi coffee and heritage foods, as well as some handmade crafts. Additionally, the exhibition included displays of developmental projects reflecting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
University students also took part in presenting informational booths about major national projects. The exhibition featured an art corner displaying paintings and photographs created by students and staff of the university as part of the “Our Pride Lies in Our Identity” competition. Additionally, the exhibition included entertainment and interactive booths, competitions, and giveaways for attendees. The event concluded with a performance of the Saudi Ardah, with the participation of university students and staff, in a scene that embodied pride in national identity and a deep connection to cultural heritage.

The Female Students’ Celebration at the Women’s Campus:
In the same context, a celebration of the 95th Saudi National Day was held at the main auditorium of the Women’s Campus, attended by Her Excellency Prof. Ghuzayel bint Saad Al-Eisa, Advisor to the University President for Women’s Campus Affairs. The event began with a live broadcast of the lecture “A Hundred Years of Shura: A Historical Journey” delivered by His Excellency the Vice Chairman of the Shura Council. The program then commenced with the Royal Anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, and a video presentation titled “Glory and Ambition.” The celebration continued with a prose performance and a national presentation titled “The Journey of a Nation… The Journey of Knowledge,” and concluded with a patriotic poem titled “The Land of Tawheed,” which expressed deep feelings of loyalty and belonging to the homeland.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the winners of the “Our Pride Lies in Our Identity” drawing and photography competition, amidst a patriotic and celebratory atmosphere that reflected the significance of this national occasion in the hearts of the female students and university staff. Her Excellency Prof. Ghuzayel bint Saad Al-Eisa, Advisor to the University President for Women’s Campus Affairs, also inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, which featured diverse booths showcasing the richness of Saudi heritage and culture. Female students and staff of the university demonstrated exceptional creativity in presenting exhibits that expressed authenticity and national identity. These included a booth on Saudi coffee and its preparation methods across different regions of the Kingdom, a traditional hospitality corner, and displays of traditional attire representing various regions of Saudi Arabia. The exhibition also included entertainment contests, prizes, and giveaways inspired by the richness of Saudi cultural heritage. King Saud University’s celebration of this cherished national day reflects its commitment to fostering a sense of loyalty and national pride among its students, reinforcing values of appreciation for the Kingdom’s history and achievements, and highlighting its deep-rooted cultural and human heritage — all in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
