The College of Medicine Enjoys a Prominent Presence at the Global Health Forum 2025

In a notable and active presence, the College of Medicine participated within the university pavilion, represented by the University Medical City, at the Global Health Forum 2025 held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Mulham from October 27–30, 2025. The pavilion received visits from distinguished guests, including ministers, senior officials, and leaders in the Saudi healthcare sector, as well as general attendees, researchers, specialists, and university professors, to learn about the college’s academic, research, and scientific achievements.
The college pavilion, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Masmali, Acting President of the University, and Dr. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafn, Dean of the College of Medicine, welcomed several dignitaries including: His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel; His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Rubeish, CEO of the University Hospitals Program at the Council of University Affairs; Professor Dr. Yousef Aseeri, President of Taif University; Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi, CEO of King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh; Engineer Fahd bin Saleh, Assistant Executive Director of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City Development; and Mr. Yasser bin Mohammed Al-Qeidan, CEO of the National Health Insurance Center. A detailed presentation was provided about the college’s achievements, which are part of the university’s transformation journey in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Visitors were briefed on the college’s scientific and research accomplishments at the local and international levels, including ranking first among all medical colleges in Saudi Arabia in the 2025 Saudi Medical Licensing Examination (SMLE) for the Human Medicine specialty, according to the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties report. The presentation also highlighted the general and specialized postgraduate training programs and fellowships, covering nearly 130 programs training over 1,000 trainees from across the Kingdom.
Regarding research achievements, over the past decade, the college has published more than 233,000 medical citations worldwide, including 12 papers in The New England Journal of Medicine and 11 papers in Science. The College’s Advanced Medical Studies Center is distinguished by offering rare and unique specialized fellowships in the Kingdom and the Middle East, established by college physicians who completed their training at prestigious medical centers in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia. According to Stanford University, 24 faculty members from the College of Medicine were listed on ELSEVIER among the top 2% of the most cited scientists globally. In terms of patents, the College of Medicine has obtained 53 registered patents at the university since 2009. These accomplishments reflect the excellence of the College’s research center and its support and services provided to researchers, specialists, students, and interested parties both inside and outside the university.
This participation underscores the College of Medicine’s leading position among health colleges in terms of scientific, academic, and research excellence, as well as financial sustainability in achieving its strategic goals.
