Under the Patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafen, the Internship Unit Celebrates the Completion of the Internship Year for 270 Physicians

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafen, the Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs, represented by the Internship Unit, organized the Internship Completion Ceremony for the Academic Year 1446–1447 AH on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Grand Main Hall of the College. The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 270 male and female physicians after completing the requirements of their internship year, marking the culmination of years of academic study and clinical training and preparing them to begin their professional careers in service of the healthcare sector and society. The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mona bint Mohammed Suleiman, the Vice Dean for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Hanaa bint Mohammed Al-Bulaihi, a number of academic leaders, faculty members, and the graduating interns.
The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem, followed by a speech from the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafen, in which he congratulated the internship graduates on successfully completing their training year. He emphasized that this achievement represents an important milestone in their professional journey and the beginning of a new stage of responsibility and service. He noted the College’s commitment to preparing physicians with the scientific competence, professional skills, and ethical values required to serve the nation and society. He encouraged the graduates to continue lifelong learning, pursue professional development, and uphold the ethics of the medical profession, while expressing his appreciation to the faculty members, College staff, and parents for their support in helping the graduates achieve this success.
Following this, the Head of the Internship Unit, Dr. Anas bin Abdullah Al-Thunayan, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that this occasion marks an important milestone and the beginning of a new professional chapter in the graduates’ medical careers. He expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the College administration and its vice deanships to the Internship Unit and its training programs. He also praised the efforts of the Internship Unit team and their role in providing an outstanding training environment that contributed to achieving the program’s objectives and enhancing the quality of its outcomes. He concluded by wishing the graduates continued success in their professional careers and expressed his hope that they would contribute their knowledge and expertise to serving the nation and advancing the healthcare system.
The graduates’ speech was then delivered by the representative of the internship physicians, student Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Qahtani, who expressed the pride of his fellow graduates in completing the internship year, describing it as a rich experience filled with practical learning opportunities and valuable professional and humanitarian lessons that refined their skills and enhanced their readiness for medical practice. He affirmed that graduates of the College of Medicine at King Saud University continue the tradition of excellence for which the College is known, encouraging his colleagues to continue seeking knowledge, pursuing professional development, and serving the nation with dedication. He also extended his sincere appreciation to the University, the College, the Internship Unit, the consultants, faculty members, and the graduates’ families for their support throughout their academic and training journey.
The ceremony also included the recognition of a number of Internship Unit staff members in appreciation of their efforts and contributions to supporting the Unit’s programs and developing its services, in addition to honoring distinguished academic departments based on the approved evaluation results. The Department of Emergency Medicine received the award for Best Department in the Core Rotations, while the Department of Orthopedic Surgery received the award for Best Department in the Elective Rotations. Ms. Sarah Al-Omar was honored with the Best Administrator Award in recognition of her professional excellence and contributions to supporting the Unit’s work and programs.
The ceremony concluded with a commemorative group photograph taken to mark the occasion.
