In the beginning of the academic year, as KSU students take their first steps into this prestigious university with intention of acquiring education, the Female Collages held the Orientation Program on Sunday Sep 17th to facilitate the transition of first-year students into the academic community. This program aims to provide information about academic policies, procedures, services and requirements.
Vice-Rector for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Einas Sulaiman Al-Eisa, Dean of Humanities Departments, Dr. Guzayel Al-Eisa, and Dean of Science and Medical Studies Departments, Dr. Maysaa’ Mohamed Al Qurashi, toured several colleges starting with College of Business Administration to assess their readiness for the new academic year and student registration .
The Academic Guidance Unit in CBA distributed a guide booklet that includes all the information related to academic issues. Different CBA departments also provided brochures and pamphlets in both English and Arabic. Representatives from Accounting, HR Management and Financial Management Clubs participated to provide information about their mission and activities.
Furthermore, College of Education created a vision board for students and familiarized them with the skills record, academic transcript and their rights and responsibilities.
Likewise, King Salman Center for Studies of History of Arabian Peninsula and its Civilization in College of Arts provided a guide booklet to familiarize students with the campus facilities, and distributed class scheduling brochures among new students.
Moreover, College of Languages and Translation (COLT) introduced students to the college, and distributed pamphlets and brochures among newcomers. COLT also set up booths for student clubs (Translation club, French Club and Cultural Club) to promote their mission and activities. Whereas College of Pharmacy, represented by the Cultural Club, created a welcoming environment by distributing “Happiness Capsules” that contained positive messages. Additionally, all the academic information needed by the students was displayed as barcodes for an easy access.
Finally, College of Dentistry, College of Sciences and College of Applied Medical Sciences introduced new students to SMR e-service (Schedule Modification Requests E-service) that enables them to modify their schedules online to save their time. Student Support Unit in the Academic and Student Affairs Administration also participated to promote their services that include providing transportation for practical training and field trips
Proceeding from the importance of the individuals and their role in activating Saudi Vision 2030, the students must seize these opportunities and services to become distinguished human cadres and give back to their country .
