The Practical training committee in CCIS organized an event "Practical Training Day" with its associated exhibition in the college hall on Tuesday November 14, 2017 with the participation of training organizations who are taking on CCIS trainees.
The event aimed to highlight the students' achievements in practical training, share their experiences with their colleagues, provide future training opportunities ,and strengthening the ties with the training institutes in both government and private sectors who in their side evaluated the outcomes of CCIS and specified their technical needs. The CCIS offers bachelor degree in 4 majors: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems ,and Software Engineering. These major disciplines mission is preparing a generation that meets the labor market needs, contributing to the national digital transformation and creating knowledge economy.
This event was held by Assistant of Vice Dean for Academic Afairs in CCIS Dr.Najla Abdulrahman Al-Nabhan and also the Supervisor of the Practical Committee. The event started with an exhibition for students training. The event started with an exhibition for training students , then a presentations of excellent training experiences at the college theater which witnessed by large presence of faculty and training destinations. During the event, the head of the Practical Committee Dr. Arwa Al-Sultan greeted the attendees. After that the Speech of Vice Dean of the CCIS Dr.Hessa Abdullah Al-Salama for trainers and faculty members. This was followed by a review of the achievements and outputs of training with Dr. Najla Al Nabhan. She indicated that CCIS offered 235 training opportunities in 66 training institutes from 23 government sectors, 31 private sectors, 11 medical sectors ,and one international institute. She also acknowledged the great accomplishments achieved by the students in the 8-week training period: 4 patent applications, 5 scientific papers submitted for publishing, developing 20 mobile applications (3 of them are published on Google Play and Apple Store) and developing 53 websites using cutting edge technology. The participating bodies were honored as well as the volunteers who developed the recently launched trail version of Practical Training portal for CCIS.
Among the outstanding training modules was the student project of Ebtihal Al-Mutairi which is a robot that can assist the elderly and students with disabilities that equipped with an arm and camera ,and controlled by a mobile application.
It is worth to mention that most of the projects presented by students, whether research, software ,or applied , including modern and specialized techniques which emphasizes the quality of KSU outcomes in general and CCIS in particular that meet the labor market needs.
