Started by the College of Food Science and Agriculture in cooperation with the Afforestation Management department and sponsored by KSU Rector Badran Al-Omar, the latest Tree Week, titled “The Tree is My Friend”, will offer many activities for students.
Kicking off on Sunday March 3 with a formal ceremony, the first day of activities on Monday March 4 start at 9am with a workshop on plant propagation hosted by the Department of Plant Production.
Later that day students will gather at the university arboretum where they will be trained in how to plant and care for trees.
Students will have a chance to get their sandals dirty on Wednesday March 6 with a tour of the lush green landscapes and farms of Mehar (Al-Thayel) in Al-Kharj.
While on the last day, Thursday March 6, students will get the chance to visit the arboretums at Zeid Al-Hussein in Nsah, Al-Kharj.
Throughout the week seedlings will be available to all university staff, employees and affiliates at the Research and Agriculture Experiment Station in the university arboretum.
