Dr. Heba Kurdi wins the gold medal at the 12th Invention Fair in the Middle East

 

Her Excellency Dr. Heba Kurdi, a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the College of Computer and Information Sciences,

 

won the gold medal at the 12th Invention Fair in the Middle East for the invention (Dynamic Task Allocation in an Autonomous Multi-UAV Mission).

 

The College of Computer and Information Sciences is proud of this achievement, which is added to the series of global achievements achieved by the college.

PhD Program in Software Engineering

The Department of Software Engineering at the College of Computer and Information Sciences

is pleased to announce the issuance of University Council Resolution No.40/8/9

approving the creation of a Doctor of Philosophy program in Software Engineering (thesis and some courses).
 

A patent for Professor Dr. Sami Al-Wakeel and Dr. Hisham Al-Tuwaijri

Faculty members in the Department of Computer Engineering,

 

Prof. Sami Al-Wakeel and Dr. Hisham Al-Tuwaijri, obtained a patent from the US Patent Office,

 

in conjunction with the former assistant researcher in the College of Computer and Information Sciences,

 

Dr. Prestigo Agung and Dr. Al-Hadi Ajon from the University of Tabuk, the Centre of Excellence for Research in Sensor Networks.

 

The patented invention was a multi-character compilation-based broadcast system for dedicated vehicle networks. 

 

The College Team Wins the Thirteenth Annual Conference for Student Research in the Field of Applied Computing, held at Zayed University

One of the teams representing the College of Computer and Information Sciences of King Saud University won the 13th Annual Conference for Student Research in the Field of Applied Computing, held at Zayed University. 

 

The winning project was entitled "Automatic Arabic Captioning for Images Using Deep Learning: A Bottom-up and Top-down Attention-based Approach".

 

Team members from the Department of Computer Science: Nouf Al-Fayez, Lama Al-Dhafi, Razan Al-Khudairi, Arwa Al-Khamis, Sarah Al-Habib, and supervised by Dr. Hafiza Bin Haidour.

 

Maram Al-Abbad was awarded the title of the ideal student at the level of scientific faculties at King Saud University for the year 1442 AH

The student, Maram bint Abdullah Al-Abbad, from the Department of Computer Science,

 

was awarded the title of the ideal student at the level of scientific colleges at King Saud University for the academic year 1442 AH.

 

The college is proud of the student and congratulates her on winning and wishes her further excellence and success.

 

Six projects for college students win in the eighth Abu Dhabi University competition for Bachelor’s Research

Six graduation projects for students of the College of Computer and Information Sciences won first places in the eighth Abu Dhabi University competition for Bachelor’s Research. The winning projects are:

 

- Mushir project from the Information Systems Department: It won first place in the category of applications for people with special needs

 

- Business Go project from the Information Technology Department: First place in the Entrepreneurship category

 

Visit of the president of the College of Computer and Information Sciences

On Wednesday morning, the College of Computer and Information Sciences was honoured by the visit of the president of the College of Computer and Information Sciences,

 

Dr. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar. 

This was at the invitation of the Dean of the College, Dr. Salman bin Ali bin Wahf,

 

to find out the state of the College and it's hoped future.

They were received by the Dean of the College, Vice Deans and Faculties of the College, and Heads and Heads of Departments.

 

The College of Computer and Information Sciences team won the Excellence Award in the Huawei Competition

The college team representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the representative of King Saud University won the Excellence Award in the Huawei Middle East Innovation Competition.

 

The team devised a system to enhance social values​​and behaviors using artificial intelligence techniques.

 

The team was supervised by Dr. Muhammad Faisal, our colleague at the center and assistant professor at the college branch in Muzahmiyah.
