On Monday, King Saud University's Nobel Laureates Program will welcome the distinguished American Economist James Heckman, a 2000 Nobelist in Economics. Professor Heckman is considered one of the leading experts in the field of Microeconometrics and Microdata.  His research has enabled him to develop methods for resolving fundamental statistical problems associated with the selection and analysis of microdata. Heckman’s Correction, developed by Heckman in the 1970's, is an eponymous statistical method in economics, which, among other things, helps to solve selection bias problems in predicting economic trends.

Dr. Heckman is the Henry Schultz Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and his visit comes within the framework of the University’s current developmental programs.
