This week, sixteen King Saud University students made a successful journey to Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz University, where they competed at the 7th annual Cultural and Scientific Week for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Universities and Higher Institutes. Out of 28 academic institutions in attendance, King Saud University placed third overall, while several KSU students won first-place and second-place awards in various categories.

KSU’s top competitors included first-place winners Nawaf bin Abdul-Kareem Al-Mutairi, competing in the Hadith category, Mohsen Bin Mohammad Al-Attas (Cultural Research) and Abdul Karim bin Jarallah Suwaidan (Drawing). The University’s Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Ali Al-Ghamdi was undoubtedly excited to see his daughter, Wafa, place second for Outstanding Social Research, while Fatima bint Yahya Al-Khairy also won second for her work in the Short Story category.
