College of Medicine at KSU Obtains “the 1st Healthy Institutional Accreditation from The RCPSC

On behalf of His Excellency Dr. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, Rector of King Saud University, as part of the considerable development and progress that witnessed in the College of Medicine and the Medical City in which it has earned full accreditation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Therefore, it becomes an accredited training centre for all fellowship and postgraduate education programs. As stated at the meeting held on Wednesday morning, November 1, 2017 in the Faculty of Medicine at University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Yousif Asiri, Vice Rector for Planning and Development, Dr. Khalid bin Ali Fouda, Faculty of Medicine Dean, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Muammar, KSUMC CEO, Dr. Riad Al Sahli, Director of the Center for Graduate Studies at Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Saleh Al-Dhahiri, Dr. Khaled Al-Sawat and Dr. Majid Al Mady, Vice Deans of the Faculty of Medicine. On the other hand, it was also attended by CEO, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the accompanying delegation. Accreditation process and future plans were discussed in order to complete the adoption of all programs to prepare trainees in an accredited program to sit Royal College fellowship examination and attain certification. On this occasion, Dr. Yousif Asiri appreciates that KSUMC obtains the first Healthy Institutional Accreditation by "The Royal College of Physicians of Canada" Commending efforts that exerted by College of Medicine in order to achieve excellence in leadership.

It's worth mentioning that there are more than 800 trained physician are enrolled in various fellowships at the Faculty of Medicine and University City that considered as the largest training center in the Kingdom.
