KSU Held the 1st Meeting of Saudi Deans and Vice Deans of College of Sciences
On the 4th of Nov 2017, under the patronage of Dr. Badran bin Abdulrahman Al Omar, KSU Rector, the College of Sciences inaugurated the 1st meeting of Saudi Deans and Vice Deans of Science Colleges. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Deans and Vice Deans of Science Colleges from all over Saudi universities, as well as attendees of the Vice-Rector for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Einas Al-Eisa.
Within the framework of the efforts of the College of Sciences to contribute and participate positively in the National Transformation Program 2020 in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, and as a part of KSU's role in constructing bridges with other universities to share expertise, exchange views and discuss a range of topics pertinent to reinforce the concept of the academic and educational organization.
The meeting began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and a welcoming speech from Dr. Nasser Mohammed Al-Daghri, said: "This meeting covers a broad range of issues, including College of Sciences contribution to achieve Saudi Vision 2030, interdisciplinary programs, research cooperation, academic accreditation, development and quality, provide the colleges with latest scientific developments and cutting-edge technology". Then Dr. Badran Al-Omar started his speech, where he expressed his happiness and welcome, saying:"the goals of the Saudi Vision are inclusive of all sectors including education, especially higher education where its development is considered community service, according to the Saudi vision 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to have at least five universities, among the top 200 world university rankings".
During the meeting, Dr. Badran honored the former deans and the sponsors of the meeting. After that, the vice dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Abeer Al-Modlej welcomed the attendees, right after that, Dr. Einas Al-Eisa honored the former vice deans and then inaugurated the accompanying exhibition. The meeting was accompanied by various workshops over two days to enrich the scientific content and showcase the achievements. Meanwhile, the college held an exhibition to celebrate its 60th anniversary, where the five-day exhibition included several wings (atom, human civilization, genetics, Genetic engineering, Mathematics, and statistics).
It is noteworthy that employment agencies to recruit graduates and who are expected to graduate. This meeting is a chance to exchange successful expertise between universities to ensure the quality of performance and outcomes of Saudi Universities.
