Under the patronage of his Excellency the President of King Saud University Prof. Badran Al-Omar, and with the continued collaboration with King Abdul-Aziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, KSU hosted the activities and events of Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program of Summer 2022. The event lasted three weeks, from 2/1/1444 AH, and aimed to create a stimulating environment, enhance the passion for science and knowledge, develop skills and build leaderships to participate in achieving the 2030 vision. The program hosted 202 female students from different regions of Saudi Arabia, and included six scientific enrichment programs in different disciplines: Anatomy and Physiology, Renewable Energy, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Encryption, and Chemical Applications. In addition, it included two training programs, Leadership and Social Influence, and Creative Thinking and Innovation.

The program also contained extracurricular activities such as physical activity program, as well as educational tours within the KSU campus, such as a tour to the simulation lab in the College of Nursery, and outside the campus such as tours to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization.

“The program was held in a well-equipped location by a skillful scientific and administration team” Dr. Hamdah S. Alanazi, the Head of the Program, explained.  The program was carried out in two places: the College of Science (where the program is primarily based) where its’ classrooms and labs are equipped with all necessary equipment according to the highest safety and quality standards, and the Central Laboratory, which is an attractive environment to enhance passion for science at the hands of highly competent multidisciplinary female academics.

Dr. Mona S. Alwahaibi, the Deputy Head of the Program was pleased to participate in preparing the program, through which the university gives gifted students intensive training on the academic level as well as personal skills development, led by distinguished academics and experts.
