The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Student Partnership Program, held the second edition of the Cultural Council “Readings” in the main theater of the Female Students Campus on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022. In an evening filled with culture and literature, the event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to promote cultural activities to contribute to achieving the aspirations of Vision 2030 in enhancing the quality of cultural activities in Saudi Arabia.

In her speech, the Council Leader welcomed the attendees, pointing out that this initiative seeks to instill the meaning of culture with deep-rooted authenticity and fresh thoughts in seeking wisdom and knowledge.

In the first dialogue session entitled "Unrealized Culture" moderated by Saud Al-Muqhim, the speaker Dr. Ahmed Muaidi emphasized that people are still reading and will continue to do so.

The exhibition accompanying the event was then inaugurated by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Dalbahi, who emphasized the continued efforts in developing reading skills among ambitious young people, pointing out its importance in building a prosperous society.

Moreover, a number of cultural and artistic groups took part in the exhibition, including the King Fahd National Library, the King Abdullah Institute for Translation and Arabization, Kitabi Club, Tweiq Initiative, Harf Agency, Dhad Cultural Salon, the Philosophy Association, the World of Stories for Children, and the Kaffah Rights Initiative.

The council concluded its second dialogue session, moderated by  Mohamed Al-Hazmi, with  Dr. Sara Al-Abd Al-Karim, D. Bodur Al-Fassam, and May Al-Dakhil discussing the origin of national identity.
