The College of Medicine, represented by the Medical Club, recently launched the Dean’s Competition for the Memorization of the Holy Qur’an (The Memorizing Physician) in its annual edition, with the participation of more than (120) male and female students, held at the college headquarters. The competition aims to instill Qur’anic principles among medical students as a way of life and work, in addition to developing memorization and recitation skills, contributing to achieving a balance between academic excellence and value-building, and preparing a distinguished model of a university student. It also aims to motivate students toward mastery and excellence in memorizing the Book of Allah and to تعزيز the spirit of positive competition among them. A specialized judging panel from the faculty members of the College of Education evaluates participants based on precise criteria, including strength of memorization, mastery of Tajweed rules, and the جمال of vocal performance, ensuring the highest levels of fairness and professionalism in evaluation.
The competition features three competitive tracks: Surah Al-Ahzab, Surah Maryam, and Juz’ Amma. Educational financial prizes have been allocated for the top three winners in each track. The prizes for the Surah Al-Ahzab track are (1500 SAR) for first place, (1000 SAR) for second place, and (700 SAR) for third place. For the Surah Maryam track, the prizes are (1000 SAR) for first place, (700 SAR) for second place, and (500 SAR) for third place, and the Juz’ Amma track carries the same prize values.
