The Faculty Development Unit at the College of Medicine organized a workshop on Thursday, April 16, 2026, entitled “Academic Promotion Requirements and Paths for Professional Development,” with the aim of enabling faculty members to gain a comprehensive understanding of academic promotion pathways and enhance their professional readiness in accordance with the university’s approved regulations and standards. The workshop was delivered by Professor Fahad bin Dakhil Al-Osaimi and attended by faculty members via the Zoom platform.
Al-Osaimi, the College of Medicine’s representative on the Scientific Council for Promotions, reviewed the أبرز regulations and academic standards related to promotion, clarifying application procedures and the requirements for the ranks of Associate Professor and Professor. He also presented a systematic plan designed to assist participants in efficiently completing promotion requirements, thereby supporting their sustainable academic and professional advancement. His presentation also addressed the professional and organizational foundations for planning an academic career path, with emphasis on enhancing scientific and professional performance, raising faculty competency, and strengthening academic competitiveness.
