Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Medicine, the student exhibition of public health posters at the College of Medicine was inaugurated.

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafn, inaugurated on Monday, May 4, 2026, the student exhibition of public health posters, organized by the Department of Family and Community Medicine with the participation of third-year male and female students ضمن the course (Community Medicine 311), held in the college lobby in the western building; with the aim of enabling students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice by preparing evidence-based projects, presenting and discussing them, in a way that contributes to developing skills in analysis, planning, and health decision-making. This was in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Mona bint Mohammed Suleiman, and the Vice Dean for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Hanaa Al-Bulaihi, along with a number of leaders and experts in the health sector, including Dr. Nouf Al-Nemir, Assistant Minister of Health for International Cooperation and Secretary-General of the Ministerial Committee for Health in All Policies, who was represented by Dr. Dina Al-Qahtani and Dr. Samah Al-Aqeel, as well as Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Institutional Excellence, Dr. Fadia Al-Bujairan, Director General of Health Policies and Economics at the Saudi Health Council, and Dr. Nouf Al Saud, Head of the Scientific Committee for Preventive Health at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University; in addition to faculty members of the department and participating students.

For his part, Dr. Al-Jafn affirmed that such educational initiatives embody the college’s orientation toward enhancing applied learning and linking educational outcomes with professional practice, noting that empowering students to build evidence-based projects contributes to preparing health cadres capable of analyzing health challenges and making evidence-based decisions that support the development of the public health system.

Dr. Hani Al-Ghamdi, Head of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, explained that the exhibition reflected a diversity of topics addressing contemporary health issues, including lifestyles, child and adolescent health, environmental health, and challenges associated with health behaviors. These were presented through scientific posters that focused on analyzing these issues and proposing evidence-based solutions and health policies. He added that this approach reflects the department’s commitment to supporting scientific research, enhancing its culture among students, and enabling them to employ scientific methodologies in studying health problems, contributing to preparing cadres capable of improving public health indicators and making evidence-based health decisions.

The organization of this exhibition comes within the college’s efforts to enhance integration between academic outcomes and the requirements of professional practice, contributing to the preparation of qualified health cadres capable of supporting and developing the public health system.
