Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar Al-Jafn, launches an awareness campaign on wheat allergy (Celiac disease).

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafn, launched today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the awareness campaign on wheat allergy (Celiac disease) at the outpatient clinics of King Khalid University Hospital, organized and supervised by the Wheat Allergy (Celiac) Research Chair, in the presence of the Chair Supervisor, Professor Dr. Asaad bin Mohammed Al-Asiri, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Nasser bin Saleh Al-Harbi, and a number of interested participants and students. The campaign aims to raise awareness of celiac disease, introduce its symptoms, diagnostic methods, and management strategies, as well as highlight the importance of early detection and the role of healthy nutrition in reducing complications.

During the opening, Dr. Al-Jafn emphasized the importance of student awareness initiatives in promoting health awareness and serving the community, praising the efforts of students and organizers in enhancing health culture.

The campaign included a number of educational and awareness booths providing medical information and health guidance to visitors, with the participation of specialists in medical and nutritional fields.

This initiative comes as part of the college’s efforts to promote health awareness and serve the community.
