In the Presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine and the Dean of the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, the College of Medicine Concludes the Consultancy Development Qualification Program and Qualifies 29 Business Unit Repr

The College of Medicine at the university concluded today, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the specialized qualification program in consultancy development, organized by the College Business Unit in collaboration with the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies. The closing ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Bandar bin Nasser Al-Jafen, and the Dean of the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Thabet, with the participation of 29 male and female trainees representing the Business Unit in academic departments and centers. The program was conducted as part of the College’s efforts to enhance its consulting capabilities, raise the readiness of its specialized personnel, and build an institutional system that supports the efficient and sustainable delivery of consulting services.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Jafen emphasized that the program represents an important step toward developing the professional and consulting capabilities of the College’s staff. He noted that investing in the academic and research expertise available within the College is a fundamental pillar for strengthening its role in providing specialized consulting services. He also praised the partnership with the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies and the quality programs it has produced, which contribute to enhancing institutional readiness and empowering national talents in alignment with the University’s objectives and future aspirations.

For his part, the Dean of the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Thabet, praised the College of Medicine’s exceptional capabilities and advanced academic and research expertise. He affirmed that the College represents one of the University’s leading centers of expertise and that investing in these capabilities and transforming them into specialized consulting services contributes to sustainability and the effective utilization of accumulated expertise to serve the community as well as the public and private sectors. He added that the Institute works to empower these experts and connect them with beneficiaries, thereby enhancing the University’s national impact and supporting its direction toward efficiency, self-sustainability, and knowledge investment.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Business Unit at the College of Medicine, Dr. Saif Al-Jabab, explained that the qualification program serves as a starting point for building and developing an institutional infrastructure that supports consulting services within the College. He noted that it provides a platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge and for establishing strategic foundations that contribute to improving the quality of medical and academic consultations in a manner that serves the College’s objectives and supports its future development. He added that the Business Unit representatives in departments and centers constitute a key element in building consulting services and enhancing their quality and sustainability, thereby increasing the College’s readiness to provide high-value professional services.

The program included several specialized training workshops covering the use of the Etimad platform, analysis of request-for-proposal documents, preparation of technical and financial proposals, development of consulting service portfolios, and management of financial targets. It also addressed the development and allocation of implementation costs, all of which contribute to enhancing consulting efficiency and raising the level of institutional readiness among participants. The closing session featured a review and discussion during which participants highlighted the key knowledge and expertise gained, in addition to discussing opportunities for developing consulting services and strengthening their contribution to achieving the College’s objectives.

At the conclusion of the program, the Dean of the College of Medicine honored the participants and organizers in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the program’s success and the achievement of its objectives. He emphasized the importance of continuing to develop consulting capabilities and investing in the distinguished competencies and expertise available within the College in order to further strengthen its academic and professional standing and leadership.
