King Saud University’s Scientific Journals Attain Global Achievements in Scholarly Publishing

King Saud University’s scientific journals have achieved new global milestones in scholarly publishing, further solidifying the University’s status as a world-class research institution and advancing the digital transformation of peer-reviewed academic publishing. In 2024, fourteen of the university’s journals were successfully indexed in the Web of Science (WOS) database, under the SSCI, SCIE, and ESCI indices, with most journals recording an increase in impact factors according to the 2024 Journal Citation Reports issued by Clarivate Analytics.

This achievement reflects the University’s sustained support for scientific research and publishing. Then-Acting University President, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Salman Al-Salman, affirmed that this accomplishment is unsurprising, as education remains a national priority receiving continuous support and attention from the Kingdom’s rational leadership. He emphasized the University’s ongoing responsibility to achieve further scientific milestones and to uphold excellence in every detail across all educational domains in pursuit of Saudi Vision 2030.

14 King Saud University journals have indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database according to the ESCI, SCIE, and SSCI indices. Most of these journals also recorded an improvement in their Quartile rankings, according to the 2024 list released by Clarivate Analytics.
