The Acting University President Patrons the Sustainable Development Conference

King Saud University, represented by the Colleges of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, and Science, is organizing the Sustainable Development Conference 2026 under the theme “Towards a Sustainable Future for Future Generations,” from April 6 to 7, 2026, in the University’s main lobby.

The conference aims to promote institutional and community awareness of the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals and their role in advancing higher education, while also highlighting the University’s efforts and initiatives in environmental, economic, and social sustainability in support of Saudi Vision 2030.

A distinguished group of decision-makers, academics, experts, and specialists will participate in the conference to discuss key sustainability issues through scientific sessions and specialized workshops showcasing the latest research and applied experiences, along with in-depth discussions that contribute to practical solutions for contemporary development challenges.

The conference will cover several major scientific themes, most notably renewable energy, the circular economy, food and water security, governance, equality and empowerment, education for sustainable development, innovation and technology in support of sustainability, national development, social responsibility, institutional partnerships, and global rankings.

The conference is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants and over 30 speakers from among experts and specialists, making it a scientific platform for exchanging expertise and building partnerships among academic institutions, government entities, and the private sector, thereby strengthening the application of sustainable development practices within and beyond the university environment.

This conference reflects King Saud University’s pioneering role as one of the Kingdom’s leading academic institutions and its commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing institutional collaboration in ways that contribute to sustainable development and community service.
