The International Conference of the European Societies for Hand Surgery, Scientific Research at King Saud University Classified as One of the Top Ten Pieces of Research Worldwide.
A new scientific achievement exclusively performed at King Saud University by one of its staff members, Dr. Mohammad M. Al-Qattan, in the College of Medicine. The paper was presented in the International Conference of the European Societies for Hand Surgery held at Loozan in Switzerland. The organizational committee has ranked Dr. Al-Qattan's paper as one of the top ten pieces of research- an event which the union of the European Societies for Hand Surgery performs at an annual base.
Sample of Dr. Al-Qattan's research includes thirty patients who have developed wrist nerve-related hypertension. The purpose of the research is to identify changes that take place in the structure of the wrist's nerve. Pressurizing spot on the nerve is found to be (2.5) centimeters away from the line of the wrist. The pressuring spot is also identified taking into account the wrist's bones. Dr. Al-Qattan has presented his findings and discussed them in the conference under consideration in light of the literature to date.
In this way, Dr. Al-Qattan has performed such international medical achievement for the second time in his research presented in the International Conference of the European Societies for Hand Surgery. Last year, his research, tumor of hand blood vessels, was also ranked one of the top ten, not to mention that three of his pieces of research, among twelve, were ranked top in this territory.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Qattan thanked his Excellency, University Rector Abdullah Al-Othman for the support and encouragement he showed. Dr. Al-Qattan has mentioned that the Saudi National flag will be lifted high in Loozan's sky on May, 21, 2008 when the activities of the International Conference of the European Societies for Hand Surgery are inaugurated.
