University Rector, Professor Abdullah Al-Othman has received a letter from the President of the The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkish in regard to Turkish President Abdullah Gul's visit last month to King Saud University in the very gracious letter, the official expressed her gratitude for the hospitality and excellent organization during the Turkish President's visit, and she hoped that the scientific partnership between King Saud University and its Turkish counterparts would be productive and fruitful in the near future. President Gul visited the university last on February 4th and delivered a speech lauding King Saud University as "well-known and famous", as well as praising the University's extraordinary academic and organizational development the university is experiencing. He also welcomed more research cooperation between Saudi and Turkish universities, and expected success for the research agreements already signed between the nations' universities.
In fact, two agreements were signed at during the Turkish President's visit, including one between KSU and the Turkish Council for Scientific and Technical Researches (TUBITAK) and a second with the Istanbul Technical University. The Turkish Council for Scientific and Technical Researches (TUBITAK) is the lead agency for managing, funding and conducting research in Turkey. Established in 1963, with the goal to achieve scientific and technical progress, it supports Turkish research projects.
