King Saud University’s Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Obeikan Chair for Science and Mathematics Education, in collaboration with the Obeikan Education Company, recently held a three-day workshop for educators in science and mathematics. More than eighty teachers from all around the Kingdom participated in this training session, which began on July 4th.
The event was attended by Mohammed Al-Asiri, the Secretary-General of the project on mathematics and natural science curriculum at the Ministry of Education and Dr. Nasser Hamad Al-Uwaishiq Education Sector Manager at Obeikan Education. The training session presented by four distinguished experts from the National Institute of Education (NIE) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. This program was the result of the cooperation agreement signed in October, 2009 between the King Saud University and the National Institute of Education (NIE).
On behalf of the Research Chair, Director of the Excellence Center of Science & Mathematics Education (ECSME) Fahad S. Al-Shaya expressed his gratitude to the Ministry and Al-Obeikan for their generous support of the invaluable training program. He also extended thanks to King Saud University Rector Abdullah Al-Othman, as well as Vice Rector for Graduate studies & Research Prof. Ali Al-Ghamdi for their constant support of ECSME activities.
