Dr Ali Al-Ghamdi, Dr. Essam A. Al-Ammar, Dr. Khalid N. Al-Ammar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Arifi, Mohammed Al-RumaihKing Saud University Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ali Al-Ghamdi welcomed a delegation this week from Saudi Arabia's General Organization for Water Desalination, which is a key engine behind sea-water desalination, as well as electric power generation and the delivery of fresh water in the various regions of Saudi Arabia.

The delegation, led by Ahmed Al-Arifi, Director General of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation's (SWCC) Research and Desalination Technologies Department, met with KSU officials to discuss various aspects of joint research between their institutions, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed in September after Eid-ul-Fitr.

The meeting included a presentation by KSU Professor Essam Al-Ammar, who discussed a research project exploring water desalination involving solar thermal energy, which is currently going on at KSU's Riyadh Techno Valley (RTV). The delegation expressed a keen interest in the project, proposing to assist in developing and evaluating the project.
