The Saudi Research & Marketing Group(SRMG) chair for a knowledge-based economy in KSU is considered a regional and international authority in the quest to establish a digital economy, revolving around a communication and data network, and relying more on the power of knowledge and human resources than on raw materials and natural resources.
The Chair strives to introduce creative work processes in business management and in human, financial and production resources to transform society into a knowledge-based and knowledge-enriched society. It also intends to invest in human resources as primary intellectual capital, and to efficiently use skilled and specialized labor and employ information and communication technology.
The Chair also intends to activate research and development as engines for change and advancement.
The SRMG research chair, established in January 2010 this year, has plans to better develop the infrastructure of the knowledge-based economy through the internet, software programs, marketing, brokering, and e-commerce. The Chair also aims to suggest methods of restructuring and rehabilitating public spending.
