Majmaah University's Rector Dr. Khalid bin Saad bin Mohamed al-Muqrin has announced that Dr. Abdulaziz I. Alhurra, an associate professor from King Saud University's Department of Geography, has been named Dean of Majmaah University's newly established College of Science and Humanitarian studies.
Dr. Alhurra expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince, the Minister of Higher Education, as well as the Rector of Majmaah University for their confidence. He also thanked KSU Rector Abdullah Al-Othman for graciously allowing him to assume this new position at Majmaah University where, replacing the department's former dean Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Saadoun.
Dr. Alhurra received his PhD in industrial planning from Swansea University, located in Wales. He has long been a member of the College of Arts faculty and has extensive experience in youth leadership, teaching, academics and scientific research.
Dr. Alhurra has organized and participated in many internal and external conferences, seminars and scientific committees. His major interests are on workforce development, geographic data systems and leadership.
Majmaah University was established on August 24, 2009, and is located in Al-Ghat, which lies approximately 150 miles (240 kilometers) northwest of Riyadh.
