Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince of the Riyadh region Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, His Excellency Prof. Badran Al-Omar the Rector of KSU inaugurated the Conference (The Future Applied Medical Sciences Towards 2030). It was organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences incorporate with the Medical City of King Saud University at King Faisal Conference Hall at the Intercontinental Hotel.

H.E. said that "this Conference comes from the University's belief in the importance of the future. As well as, developing a roadmap for the use of Applied Medical Specialties, presenting research developments, creating a common platform between the institutions of health and the labor market, achieving effective knowledge exchange and exploring experiences that related academically and professionally; in the pursuit of attaining Saudi Vision 2030 for the health sector and cadres".

He explained that "the application of performance efficiency in health facilities through promoting the quality culture enables human resources to reach a better future of health services to achieve the optimal health environment in society"; adding, that the conference reviews the latest health researches and scientific papers to achieve community awareness regarding related medical specialties, Especially since our government has always been keen to develop the health sector through ensuring high-quality health services.

Also he added that "an indicator of the success of the Saudi health strategy is the marked improvement in the level of health care, resulting in an average life expectancy of 74 years, also, KSA has the most significant healthcare sector among the Gulf countries, Accounting for about 48% of total Gulf governments' spending on health care at an estimated cost of $ 40 billion by 2020". Finally, His Excellency Prof Badran Al-Omar thanked HRH and the Minister of Education for their continuous support.
