AMI Representation at International Conference in United Kingdom
Eng. Mustufa Haider Abidi represented the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, at the prestigious international conference named as 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Smart Manufacturing (S2M 2019), part of the Industry 4.0 Academia Summit 2019 which was held on 9th – 11th April, in Manchester, United Kingdom. The conference was attended by highly reputed scientists and researchers in the manufacturing field specially in Additive manufacturing around the globe, such as, Prof. Ian Gibson, Prof. Paulo Bártolo, Dr. Alian Bernard, to name a few. Eng. Abidi presented his research work titled “Multimodal Virtual Reality Based Maintenance Training System for Industry 4.0”, which was also co-authored by Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Ahmari, Dr. Hisham Alkhalefah, and Prof. Abdulaziz El-Tamimi. The research work was about developing a multi-modal training system to train the students about maintenance procedure with all safety measures using virtual reality and haptics. His work was highly appreciated by the experts and received accolades from the audience. His confident presentation skills were also appreciated by the listeners. He answered all the questions confidently and effectively, which was raised by audience. Apart from this Eng. Abidi also presented on behalf of Dr. Hisham Alkhalefah. The title of Dr. Hisham research paper was “A framework for Industry 4.0 Implementation: A Case Study at King Saud University”. He also gave a brief introduction to the audience about the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, King Saud University, so that it will get better international recognition.
