King Saud University Scoops Cybersecurity Awards

 

King Saud University is proud to have won two cybersecurity awards, one for KSU Medical City (KSUMC) for "Best Healthcare Security Project" and another for Prof. Muhammad Khurram Khan for "Honorary Award (Academics)”. The award ceremony was held at the ‘4th Security Conclave’, which was attended by around 150 CISOs, CIOs, heads of security departments, and leading cybersecurity professionals.

 

With the theme, “Fortifying the Kingdom’s Cyber Defense” – Security Conclave KSA, hosted a series of keynotes and panel discussions featuring a myriad of industry experts and solutions providers to discuss the value chain of the national cybersecurity ecosystem. The event, sponsored by Google Cloud and Atos, culminated in a prestigious awards evening, honoring over 30 cybersecurity leaders, organizations, and vendors across various categories. The award recipients were selected through a meritorious process for their sustained, outstanding, and impactful accomplishments that have transformed the cybersecurity industry and society.

 

 

KSUMC received the award in recognition of its commitment to ensuring the availability of medical services, the integrity of patient data, and compliance with regulatory frameworks and bodies. The award was received by Mervat Alrassan, the Director of Corporate IT Department and Engr. Salman Khalid Bakhsh, IT Manager Systems at KSUMC.

 

 

Prof. Muhammad Khurram Khan, a distinguished professor of cybersecurity at KSU’s Center of Excellence in Information Assurance, has a remarkable sustained career in cybersecurity that won him an award for his services to cybersecurity academics. Prof. Khan was chosen for this award to pay tribute to his impressive contributions, which have created a lasting impact on cybersecurity through his research, academics, consultation, and professional outreach.

 

 

It is worthy of note that Prof. Khan recently received the prestigious "Cybersecurity Excellence Award" for his exceptional contributions to the creation of cybersecurity awareness in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he has been ranked 10th by Thinkers360 (USA) among the “Top 50 Global Thought Leaders and Influencers in Cybersecurity”.
