Elm Sponsors Engineering College’s Innovation Center

Ahmed Al-Aameri, KSU’s Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research inaugurated Innovation Center at Engineering College.

Moreover, during the ceremony a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement was also signed between Elm Company and the College of Engineering, to sponsor the Innovations Center.

It is noted, the work has been ongoing on the establishment of the center since nearly three years ago with the support of Vice Rectorate for Educational and Academic Affairs as well as the Vice Rectorate for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The Center aims to develop innovative and creative thinking of students, enhance their skills and knowledge by providing a supportive environment for innovation to generate creative ideas that are reflected in value-added process models.

Further, the center includes the basic design, installation and measurement equipment in various scientific areas offered by College of Engineering, as well as technical support to provide an opportunity for college students to implement innovative value-added projects. The Center is not necessarily associated with any of the classroom activities but aims to attract every student who has innovative ideas and wants to achieve them by taking the advantage of available devices and logistical support.

In addition, Elm Company explained in a press statement that it is looking to enhance the productive and fruitful partnerships through a scientific agreements and memorandums of understanding between it and the relevant authorities, including King Saud University. The agreement with King Saud University will contribute to the provision of research ideas to solve the problems facing the labor market, to provide innovative ideas to motivate students to work on them and convert them into products or value-added services, encourage students to business initiatives, and take advantage of the company's capabilities in productivity practices.  The company pointed out that this agreement will sponsor an annual award for innovative projects under the name "Elm" supervised and presented by College of Engineering on behalf the University.
