With this phrase the associate professor at Birmingham University/ Dr. Josefine Hirschfield expressed her visit to Saudi Arabia at an invitation from External Joint Supervision Program since Dr. Josefine is the supervisor of the PHD student of the program “Basmah AlMaarik”.

This visit comes within the university’s goals to exchange academic and scientific expertise with international, distinguished universities.

 It included a tour around the campus starting from a meeting with the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences administration and they discussed aspects of cooperation. Also, she visited the central laboratory and King Khalid International Hospital where the Blood Bank is located and the College of Dentistry.

Furthermore, Dr. Josefine met the general supervisor of EJSP program/ Dr. Nadia Alghrimeel in her office where the progress of the student is discussed.

The visiting associate professor presented a lecture entitled “Neutrophils as a potential target for preventing infectious-inflammatory diseases” on Wednesday 12/10/2022.

She introduced about current research projects at Birmingham University and research funding resources. Moreover, she discussed about neutrophil targeting drug developments from therapy to prevention.
