Nesma & Partners Contracting Company signs a contract to support a research chair for construction research and building technologies in the Civil Engineering Department

In an important step to develop the construction sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Vice President of King Saud University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Yazid Al-Sheikh, signed a contract to support the establishment of construction research and building technologies chair, between the university, represented by the Research Chairs Vice-deanship at the Deanship of Scientific Research, and Nesma & Partners Contracting Company, represented by Mr. Rami Al-Turki, Managing Director of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee. This partnership aims to establish a "research chair" specialized in construction engineering and management under the umbrella of the Civil Engineering Department to drive development in this vital sector. The signing ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Majid Al-Tamimi, the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Ali Al-Qarni, and several fellow faculty members from the Construction Engineering and Management Group.

 

 

This ambitious partnership hopes to achieve a set of strategic goals represented by developing innovative and advanced construction solutions that contribute to raising project efficiency and reducing costs, as well as adopting environmentally friendly technologies that contribute to preserving natural resources. In addition, scientific research will be linked to the needs of the industry to ensure that the developed solutions are applicable on the ground. Finally, the partnership will support Saudi cadres and enhance local content in the construction sector.

This partnership is expected to achieve many benefits, including developing national competencies through training students and qualifying young Saudi cadres to lead the future of the construction sector and spreading knowledge through specialized research and studies in construction at the local and international levels. Finally, it strengthens the position of pioneering construction and building at the regional level. 

Commenting on this occasion, Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Mahmoud, Supervisor of the Nesma & Partners Chair for Construction Research and Building Technologies, said, "This partnership represents an important step towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for the construction sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By combining the industrial expertise of Nesma & Partners and the research capabilities of King Saud University, this partnership seeks to achieve a qualitative shift in this important sector and contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
